What is the difference between Halloween: The Game Standard and Deluxe?

After the September 8, 2026 launch, both digital editions give you the same live game. Deluxe adds verified extra entitlements. Advance Access is no longer a current reason to buy Deluxe — that Deluxe-only window ended at launch.

Verified Deluxe contents

The live Steam Digital Deluxe Upgrade page (app 4686720, retrieved 2026-09-09) lists these items. PlayStation and Xbox Deluxe pages use the same Inmate skin and Alexis & Richard wording. Official older copy also says “and more surprises” without naming them — we do not fill that gap.

Standard includes

  • Halloween: The Game (story + 1v4 multiplayer)

Deluxe / Upgrade includes

  • Exclusive Inmate Michael Myers Skin
  • 2 Exclusive Civilians (Alexis & Richard)
  • Advance Access to Laurie Strode Cosmetic
  • Digital Comic

“Advance Access to Laurie Strode Cosmetic” on the Steam upgrade page is a cosmetic entitlement, not the expired September 4 game unlock.

Who each edition is for (after launch)

Buy Standard if

You want the live game — six-chapter story and 1v4 multiplayer — at the $39.99 US list price and do not need the Inmate skin, Richard, Alexis, the Laurie Strode cosmetic or the digital comic.

Buy Deluxe or the Upgrade if

You specifically want those verified extras. If you already own Standard, the $19.99 upgrade is the storefront path that matches official FAQ language. Do not buy Deluxe to “play early” — that window is closed.

Advance Access was Deluxe-specific history

Official launch notes are explicit: pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe Edition granted Advance Access on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT. Standard pre-orders did not. The same notes say the game launched for everyone on September 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT.

That is the correction to older wording that implied every pre-order unlocked early, or that used a later morning hour.

Buying Deluxe today does not restore those four days. Treat Advance Access as a closed historical window, not as a current Deluxe feature.

Pre-order exclusives that are not current Deluxe value

Official pre-order notes listed a Phantom Michael Myers skin as a Digital Pre-order Exclusive for Standard and Deluxe pre-orders, and said it would not be available to purchase after launch. The current Steam Deluxe Upgrade page does not list Phantom. Do not treat Phantom as a live Deluxe bullet.

Physical editions (separate from digital Deluxe)

The official physical-editions post announces a Physical Standard Edition and a Limited Collector's Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on October 6, 2026, with the game on disc. Official USD prices there are $39.99 (Physical Standard) and $149.99 (Limited Collector's). Those boxed SKUs list their own cosmetic Advance Access items and are not the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Common questions

What is the price difference between Standard and Deluxe?

Official and Steam US listings price the Digital Standard Edition at $39.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99. A Digital Deluxe Upgrade is listed at $19.99. Prices vary by region and store. No discounts are claimed here.

What does Deluxe include after launch?

The live Steam Digital Deluxe Upgrade (app 4686720, retrieved 2026-09-09) lists Exclusive Inmate Michael Myers Skin, 2 Exclusive Civilians (Alexis & Richard), Advance Access to Laurie Strode Cosmetic, and a Digital Comic. PlayStation and Xbox Deluxe listings use the same Inmate skin and Alexis & Richard wording, plus more surprises. Advance Access to the full game on September 4 was a pre-launch Deluxe window and is no longer a current purchase benefit.

Can I still get Advance Access by buying Deluxe?

No. Official notes timed Deluxe Advance Access at September 4, 2026, 9:00 AM PT, and said the game launched for everyone on September 8, 2026, 9:00 AM PT. Buying Deluxe after launch does not recreate that early window.

Was the Phantom Michael Myers skin part of Deluxe?

Official pre-order notes listed the Phantom Michael Myers skin as a Digital Pre-order Exclusive for Standard and Deluxe pre-orders, and said it would not be available to purchase after launch. It is not listed on the current Steam Deluxe Upgrade page.

Is Halloween: The Game sold in Australia or on Japanese PS5?

Named reports (PC Gamer, Polygon) quoted IllFonic saying the Australian Classification Board denied the game a rating, and Polygon reported a Japanese PS5 CERO rating barrier. Confirm current storefront availability in your region before buying. This is not a ranking or traffic claim.
