Halloween: The Game story walkthrough
Clear the campaign once by following the required HUD objective in each stage. This hub is the first-clear map. Each chapter page owns the stuck-player route.
Chapter titles below are reported by English walkthroughs and commonly shown in story mode. IllFonic's official story post says players guide Michael across six chapters, but it does not print this full title list. Sources: official story reveal · Whisper of the House · Into Indie Games · TPose Gaming.

First-clear rule
Official copy says core chapter objectives are set, while secondary challenges and collectibles exist for replay. English walkthrough hubs agree on the practical rule:
- Follow the required HUD objective. When it changes destination or offers an exit, change direction with it.
- Defer optional challenges, extra kills and collectibles to chapter replay.
- Nearby skulls, fleeing NPCs and leftover residents are not automatically story targets.
Official framing: Unleash Hell Upon Haddonfield. First-clear rule paraphrased from Whisper of the House (retrieved 2026-09-09) and supplemented by Into Indie Games.
All six stages
Prologue: Escape From Smith's Grove
When the HUD becomes lowering or opening gates, prioritize the exit over clearing every orderly.
Open first-clear route →Chapter 1: The Road To Haddonfield
Rabbit in Red is the anchor. Do not map-wide chase people who are not the current HUD target.
Open first-clear route →Chapter 2: Main Street
Prefer named special targets over every skull marker. The cemetery / grave sequence ends the chapter.
Open first-clear route →Chapter 3: Returning Home
Myers house childhood sequence before any neighborhood sweep. Leave when the escape objective appears.
Open first-clear route →Chapter 4: The Babysitters
Do not interrupt the Annie / Bob / Lynda / Laurie order early. The Wallace House is the chapter anchor.
Open first-clear route →Chapter 5: Into The Shadows
Rebuild to Tier 3 / Shape Jump. Avoid dense police while weak. Take a usable exit when offered.

Walkthrough FAQ
What is the fastest way to finish story mode once?
Follow the required HUD objective in each of the six stages. Defer optional challenges, extra kills and collectibles to chapter replay. That is first-clear advice from English walkthrough hubs, not an official timer.
When should I stop hunting optional targets?
As soon as the HUD changes destination or offers an escape. Whisper of the House treats leftover skulls, residents and challenge conditions as replay work.
Can I replay one chapter without restarting the campaign?
English walkthroughs describe chapter replay after a first clear. Use that to clean challenges or try another Chapter 5 exit. Official copy also frames secondary challenges as replayability.
