Chapter 2: Main Street walkthrough
First-clear route for this reported story-mode stage. Follow the required HUD objective. Optional challenges and extra kills are replay work.
Chapter titles below are reported by English walkthroughs and commonly shown in story mode. IllFonic's official story post says players guide Michael across six chapters, but it does not print this full title list. Sources: official story reveal · Whisper of the House · Into Indie Games · TPose Gaming.

Reported title: Chapter 2 — Main Street
Broad area: Haddonfield Town Center; Nichols Hardware and nearby shops (official map copy)
First-clear signal: Prefer named special targets over every skull marker. The cemetery / grave sequence ends the chapter.
Required HUD order
- Reach the hardware-store back door. IIG: if it is locked, story mode introduces Shape Jump / Phase Jump here — walkthroughs say lit doors block the phase.
- Get the mask. Official Town Center copy says Michael completes the Boogeyman transformation at Nichols Hardware. IIG places the mask on the left inside the shop.
- Follow named special targets. IIG's first-clear spine is Eric (hardware store) → hide the body when asked → Tanya at A-Side Music Store → cemetery cutscene → Rachel → hide Rachel's body when asked → sister gravestone.
- Whisper of the House: once the grave objective is active, go to the cemetery, finish the required grave interaction, take the required item, return it to the car. Reopening shops after that is replay work.

Items & interactions (sourced)
- Mask at Nichols Hardware. Official locations post + IIG first-clear step.
- Hide body prompts (Eric / Rachel). IIG treats these as required HUD beats between named targets.
- A-Side Music Store / cemetery / sister gravestone. Named on IIG's Main Street spine; Whisper ends the chapter after the grave item returns to the car.
- Optional challenge setups. IIG lists Tanya cash register, Rachel environmental kill, Slab pee timing, Eric stockroom shelf — leave for replay.

Common time sink
Killer Sense skulls and Shape Jump shortcuts make every building look required. Whisper of the House: a skull is information, not the next story destination. Named special targets beat leftover environmental markers.
Optional Main Street challenges need NPC states that a rushed first clear will break. Leave them for chapter replay. Continue in Chapter 3: Returning Home.

Optional vs required
Official copy says each chapter has secondary challenges and collectibles. They are not the story handoff. Open the optional challenges page only when you are replaying this stage.
This chapter FAQ
When is Main Street actually finished?
Whisper of the House says the chapter is effectively done after the grave interaction and returning the required item to the car. Into Indie Games ends the route at the marked sister gravestone.
Are skull markers the next story destination?
No. Whisper of the House treats Killer Sense skulls as useful information, not automatic story targets. Named special targets come first on a first clear.
