Enter 1908 on the kitchen wall safe in Apartment 5, 12 Garrison Street. That is the year Allen Radio Store opened.
Where is the safe?
Chapter 1, A New Day. After the first floodgate blocks your boat, pass the safe room and cross onto dry Garrison Street. The building on the left of Allen Radio Store is 12 Garrison Street. Go upstairs: Apartment 5 is on the left, Apartment 6 on the right.
The safe is in Apartment 5's kitchen. Launch walkthroughs name this room Apartment 5. Older demo coverage sometimes called it Apartment 6 — in the full game, Apartment 6 is the hole that drops you into the Radio Store.
How 1908 is deduced
- Read To Martin on the safe. Algernon tells his son the combination is his "proudest, most miraculous moment."
- Drop through Apartment 6 into the Radio Store and read From a Sister on the counter. It is 21 years since Algernon opened the shop, and 1929 is the year on nearby notes.
- 1929 − 21 = 1908. The same year is printed on the Radio Store sign: "Since 1908."
- Connect the two notes in the Investigation space, then return to Apartment 5 and enter 1908.
You can type 1908 without collecting every note. Connecting the pair still matters: it awards Dream Essence and completes The Inheritance investigation.
